For the first few chapters I was drawn in but as the book progressed I found the repetitiveness (although differents POVs) irritating. My doubts were unjustified though, as Liz Nugent absolutely nails it. All that build up for evil to win out.

I settled down to read this having heard great things. Her first bestseller was The Stranger Beside Me, about her personal relationship with infamous serial killer Ted Bundy. The more you read, the murkier the story becomes, as it delves in depth into the two disparate families. [ I have read it far too quickly and now I am sitting here wondering what I can follow such a good book with, because, whatever it is, will not be as good.

This book has more twists than a corkscrew. Insidiously dark, an undertone of creepiness, and all done without graphic gore. Not only is her style beautiful, but she keeps the reader on the edge of their seat from page one until the completely unexpected ending. Liz Nugent's opening line in this twisted and devious page turning mystery certainly creates an impact. Having said that i will certainly look for more books by this author as i think she is very talented. Towards the end the tone changed somehow and i thought the writing got a bit weaker, and i really didn't like the ending at all. Please try again.
