This movie is proof that the ending of a movie can ruin the rest. Most of the performances are also very good, giving weight to their roles and making the movie more respectable. I wasn't familiar with any of the cast before this movie, but the script was well written and the actors portrayed all the characters well. We find out early in the movie that Ann herself had been under psychiatric care when she was in college by her professor and good friend Leo Green, Alan Alda, after her fathers suicide.
